    Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago with profound sorrow informs that Jan Olszewski, a former Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, passed away on February 7, 2019.

    The Honorable Jan Olszewski, an opposition activist and human rights defender in the times of Communistic regime, later on served as Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland between December 1991 and June 1992.

     

    National mourning has been declared in Poland on Friday, February 15, 2019 and Saturday, February 16, 2019 (until 7.00 pm local time in Poland).


    A Book of Condolences will be opened for signing at Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Chicago, 1530 North Lake Shore Drive, Chicago, IL, on Friday February 15, 2019 from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.
